In Office Urine Drug Screening

Testing for illegal drugs is sometimes a prerequisite to receiving treatment at The Holiner Psychiatric Group. Urine Drug Screening (UDS) is not always needed. However, your physician may request a drug test in order to become properly informed about your substance use. It is important to keep in mind that drug testing is in your best interest. A UDS is simply needed to provide you with safe and suitable care. Drug testing can help your mental health practitioner conduct a more thorough and accurate assessment of your mental and physical well-being. In turn, this will help your practitioner create the most effective treatment plan based on your specific needs.

It is your physician’s choice whether or not to drug test you. Urine Drug Screens are required for some of the medications prescribed to patients and other patients are given a UDS on an as needed basis. Your physician at The Holiner Psychiatric Group will make his or her decision based on your physical and mental needs.

If needed, drug testing will play a significant role in your diagnosis and treatment. It is important to be honest about your drug use because it can be vital to your treatment. In some cases, you may face serious health risks if your treatment collides with hidden drug use. There is no need to worry about your privacy. Patient confidentiality ensures that your test results will remain confidential between you and your mental health practitioner.

The Holiner Psychiatric Group provides you with the convenience of in-office urine drug screening instead of going to a lab company. If you are asked to provide a urine sample, you can do it conveniently at our Dallas office.
