Luisa Angeles Collins Villares is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C), Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), certified Diplomate in Anti-Aging Medicine and Functional Medicine (ABAAHP). Currently enrolled in an advanced Fellowship in Anti-Aging, Metabolic, and Functional Medicine (FAAMFM). She is certified by HIMSS in Health Information Technology (CPHIMS). In 2007 she completed a five-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. She received a Master of Science in Nursing and became a board-certified family medicine nurse practitioner in 2019. She completed a post-master certificate in 2021 as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She is currently enrolled in the doctorate in nursing program (DNP) and will have completed the DNP in May 2024. Her graduate work has been from the University of Texas, Arlington.
A few of Luisa’s accomplishments and community service includes being appointed as a Fellow in Quality Improvement, Care Transitions, and Patient Safety in the 9th  Statement of Work by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Quality Improvement Organization. Appointed to serve a term under Governor Heinemann for the State of Nebraska’s Department of Health and Human Services, Board of Health. Served on Rules and Regulations, Credentialing, Public Health, and Professional Boards committee. In 2009 she received from Madrid, Spain the “International Nurse’s Day Research” award. In 2011 she was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau nursing honor society. In 2021 she was appointed to serve on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid MACRA episode-based cost measures for Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) Workgroup.
Luisa is forward thinking with extensive clinical experience. She is a continual learner and has a pulse on the latest treatments effective in psychiatric and medical conditions for adolescents, adults, and older populations. She has advanced training in precision medicine and prevention medicine from the Institute from Functional Medicine and American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. She is experienced in healthcare leadership serving in roles with a focus in revenue cycle, quality improvement, informatics, program development, and consulting domestically and internationally. Prior to nursing she served in positions within the business and technology sector for Dell Computer and internet start-ups. She believes in a life of service for the community, the nursing profession, and to her patients. She is a high achieving Practitioner and nurse with a pulse on healthcare systems delivering personalized precision medicine with an intent to redefine medicine. She has a dual citizenship in Madrid, Spain and fluent in Spanish and English. She lives currently in North Dallas with her husband.
