Specialties: PMHNP
I have over 32 years in nursing, most as a nurse practitioner (NP) where I
began my NP career as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner in 1992 followed by a Master of Science in Nursing Administration in 2002, and my post-master’s certificate as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in 2019. I am also a proud alumnus of the nearby University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) where I obtained my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in 2014.

I am active in academics in the community and believe in giving back to those programs in which I was a student. Thus, I teach in multiple programs within the College of Nursing and Health Innovation at UTA, including the PMHNP, Master’s core, and DNP programs. As a professional, I believe in the continuous study of psychiatry and the human body and mind connection that create opportunities to help those in need. I am also engaged in activities within
the professional arena with the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA) APRN Education Council where I collaborate with educators from around the country in setting the course for important initiatives geared toward educational outcomes of PMHNP programs and the assurance of well-prepared graduates.

I enjoy working with those ranging from adolescents to the elderly who need mental health support. I am interested in the long-term suffering in human trafficking, those with addiction, serious mental illness, the complexities of comorbid neuropsychiatric conditions, and many other common and uncommon mental health conditions. I am enriched by those who I have had
the opportunity to meet at wherever point they are in their lives. I look forward to a partnership in your care and a look towards the future together.
