Mark McFaul, M.A, LPC

Therapist

Hi, I’m Mark McFaul, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 12 years of experience walking alongside individuals on their journeys toward healing and growth. My path into counseling began under the mentorship of Dr. Jan Holden at the University of North Texas, who herself was taught by Carl Rogers, the founder of person-centered therapy. That legacy deeply shaped my belief in the power of empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard.

After the passing of my parents in 2004 and 2005, I felt called to continue my education at Dallas Baptist University, where I completed my Master’s in the Healing Arts of Counseling from a Christian worldview. These experiences strengthened not only my professional foundation but also my personal resilience and compassion.

Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to work in diverse settings—academic institutions, community and state agencies, hospitals, churches, and private practice. I’ve supported children and adults navigating a wide range of challenges, including Autism, Asperger’s, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, anxiety, depression, family and couples concerns, OCD, postpartum depression, PTSD, trauma, sexual addiction, psychosis, and schizophrenia, among others.

My roles have included Qualified Mental Health Professional, pastoral counselor, Certified Life Coach, and now LPC. I am trained in multiple treatment modalities, with a primary focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (including CBT-I, CBT-P, and Trauma-Focused CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Trust-Based Relational Interventions. I hold certifications in anger management, Prepare & Enrich, and psychedelic support counseling (Lead) for Compass, among others.

What truly drives me is a passion for learning, growing, and walking alongside others as they pursue their goals. I bring a compassionate, upbeat, and grounded approach to therapy, with an openness to making mistakes, learning from them, and growing together with my clients. Outside of work, you’ll find me enjoying meaningful conversations, finding humor in life’s twists and turns, and staying rooted in faith and hope.

I am excited to share, learn, grow, and help you in your healing process.
